The staff at Eclipse Education are made up of experts in teaching and mentoring, passionate about perfecting the best learning methods to ensure that every child succeeds. Read on to meet some of our fantastic team members.

Kate Truscott

​Director and Education Lead​​

After working in mainstream education for nearly 20 years, Kate moved into alternative provision as a Deputy Head, Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENDCO of a Pupil Referral Unit. She has worked as a consultant supporting secondary schools to meet students additional needs, particularly those with Social Emotional Mental Health constraints. Kate has excellent links with schools in the local community as well as other professionals such as social care, health professionals and the police. Kate is also a Parenting Coach and offers regular support and guidance to parents. ​

Jo Chapman

Deputy manager and Primary lead

Jo has worked in mainstream education for nearly 20 years. She has been a Senior Leader who has lead on Curriculum, RSHE, Play, Outdoor Learning and Forest School as well as being a DDSL and Attendance Lead. She also has a background of working with young offenders and SEND and has developed strong links with organisations in the local community and works closely with charities such as Boys In Mind.

Emily Padfield

Learning mentor

Emily has worked in SEN education for over 10 years, specifically working 1:1 with students with autism, SEMH, communication needs and anxiety. Emily has also worked in an outreach team providing support and guidance to mainstream schools for students that may be struggling - looking at and thinking about their provision environment and how they can best support specific students. Emily is Thrive trained and currently works for the behaviour team alongside her role here at Eclipse Education.

Sarah Johnson

Learning mentor​

Sarah has worked with young people for over 13 years. Sarah first volunteered as a youth worker before completing her supporting teaching and learning qualification. She worked in various primary schools; specifically supporting students with ADHD and cerebral palsy before moving on to become a learning support teaching assistant in secondary schools. Sarah's passion is "anything to do with water". She is a qualified diving instructor and swim assistant. Sarah continues to work locally as a teaching assistant alongside her role here at Eclipse Education. 

Kelly Eyres

Learning mentor

Kelly began her career in teaching 25 years ago as a swimming and trampoline teacher. During this time, she gained extensive experience teaching children and adults with SEND. Kelly began tutoring after a period of home education and quickly established a student base; including individuals  with SEND and SEMH. After meeting Kate, Kelly was inspired; ready for a fresh challenge, she joined the team. Kelly is also a qualified crystal therapist.

Tasha Soby

Learning mentor

Tasha is a Social Emotional Mental Health specialist with significant experience in adverse childhood trauma. Tasha has worked in education for over 20 years with 15 of those dedicated to SEN young people, primarily those with autism and ADHD. Tasha is a licensed ELSA (emotional literacy support assistant) with a wide range of skills in mental health and wellbeing.

Having taught in mainstream and SEN Early Years and Primary Education roles for the last 15 years, Lizzie now brings her knowledge and experience into running our office and administration team behind the scenes.

Gemma Gliddon

Teacher and Maths Lead

Gemma is passionate about supporting young people to thrive, both in and out of the classroom.

With a background in pastoral care and 10 year of mainstream Maths teaching around the country in different settings, as well as 3 years teaching Science. She is focused on building strong relationships and tailoring learning to each student's needs and interests to help young people gain confidence, re-engage with education, and achieve to their potential.

Helen Whitley

Learning Mentor ​

Helen has worked in education for over 14 years, mostly working with children with SEND and SEMH. Helen has spent time as a DSL, Exams Officer and Attendance Officer, and now joins us an experienced Learning Mentor. She has a passion for helping students build confidence, self esteem and recognise their abilities so they can engage with education again.

Teacher

Natalie has joined the Eclipse team after spending 15 years as a SEND Teacher at a specialist school, working with children with a range of SEND from Autism, ADHD, sensory impairments and physical disabilities. Natalie is passionate about inclusivity and believes building relationships and rapport is integral to helping students to feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Throughout her time working in SEND Natalie was the PSHE lead and planned the PSHE curriculum from Reception through to Post 16. Natalie has experience of working with children who find accessing school difficult as well as personal experiences of EBSA.
